Chiukepo retires

Veteran striker Chiukepo Msowoya has finally decided to hang up his boots after years of playing football both at club and national team level.

He made the announcement through his social media page on Friday afternoon.

“I’ve had the privilege to be a professional football player for almost 20 years now and I feel incredibly thankful for the opportunity.

‘It has been an amazing journey filled with unforgettable moments and emotions. I want to thank the Malawi National Team and all the clubs that I’ve played for, the coaches who supported me, plus team-mates who have become friends,” he wrote.

He also acknowledged the support that he has received from his family throughout his career.

On the local front, Msowoya played for the defunct Escom United, Nyasa Big Bullets, Mighty Wanderers while at international level, he played for Orlando Pirates, Golden Arrows, Costa Do Sol, Liga De Sportiva de Maputo.
