President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has arrived in New York United States of America where he is to attend the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
Dr Chakwera and First Lady, Madam Monica Chakwera, arrived at JF Kennedy International Airport a few minutes ago.
Malawi’s Ambassador to Washington, Justice Esmie Chombo, Malawi’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Dr Agness Chimbiri Molande, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo and other dignitaries, welcomed the President upon arrival.

Dr Chakwera is expected to engage development partners on Malawi’s recovery from the devastating impact of the recent cyclones.
He is also expected to address the assembly on 21 September, where he will deliver the Malawi National Statement.
President Chakwera will also address the UN Sustainable Development Goals Summit and the Millennium Challenge Compact Meeting.
The Malawi leader is expected to host the Invest In Malawi Business Summit and the 2023 Malawi-Partners Conference.
