Bullets fined K2.3M by SULOM for violence during TNM Super League match

Super League of Malawi (SULOM) has fined FCB Nyasa Big Bullets K2,300,000 for violent acts that occurred during their TNM Super League match against Silver Strikers at Kamuzu Stadium on June 2, 2024.

According to a statement released by SULOM, Bullets were summoned to a disciplinary hearing where they accepted the charges. The team was faulted for failing to manage their supporters, who pelted stones and bottles onto the field in the 90th minute, forcing the match to end prematurely.

Additionally, the supporters damaged and deflated the bus tires of both the visiting and home teams, causing delayed departures.

The statement has highlighted several mitigating factors, including Bullets’ formal apology to Silver Strikers, the payment of K6 million for bus maintenance, making peace with Silver Strikers’ supporters, and the return of confiscated drums.
