Bangwe halts Silver, Bullets in top 3

Relegation-threatened Bangwe All Stars have forced a goalless stalemate against TNM Super League leaders, Silver Strikers at Balaka Stadium on Wednesday.

This means Bangwe have 19 Points and are 18th, moving a place above Chitipa United. Silver Strikers remain on top with 49 points.

However, Silver’s lead has been shortened to five points because second-placed Mighty Mukuru Wanderers, have won 1-0 against FOMO at Kamuzu Stadium, courtesy of Wisdom Mpinganjira’s 8th-minute strike.

In Mzuzu, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were held to a 0-0 draw against Mzuzu City Hammers. The result has propelled them to the third position with 34 points from 21 games.

League action will return this weekend as Civil Service United, who are 4th placed with the same points with bullets but separated by goals, will face Bangwe All-Stars.

Fifth-placed Kamuzu Barracks who have also the same points but lesser goals will play against Mzuzu City Hammers who are sixth and 33 points.

7th-and-falling, Creck Sporting Club will face Silver Strikers while 8th-placed Karonga United, with 30 points, will battle against Mighty Wanderers.

On 9th Position is MAFCO, who have 30 points, will face Bullets. 10th Moyale will face Chitipa United. Elevethn placed and 24-point side, Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos will lock horns against twelfth Mighty Wakawaka Tigers who have the same points but are separated by four goals.

League anchors, Baka City will face FOMO.
