The Consumers Association of Malawi (CAMA) has urged consumers in the country to exercise caution in their spending during the Christmas and New Year festivities.
According to a statement signed by CAMA’s Executive Director, John Kapito, people should avoid impulse buying and remain vigilant against unscrupulous traders who may use various tactics to sell products at inflated prices.
“We are aware that during this period, some traders use promotions and unrealistic advertisements to entice consumers. Therefore, be vigilant,” the statement reads in part.
Some consumers, including those in the civil service, will begin observing Christmas and New Year holidays from 20 December 2024 to 3 January 2025.
