Maranatha Academy’s Managing Director, Ernest Kaonga, said the Heroes Party Award Initiative has been introduced to encourage secondary students across the country to dedicate themselves to their studies.
“Maranatha Private Academy Schools has organized the function as a way of promoting quality education in the country which complements educational goals and initiatives championed by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera.
“We will recognise and award boys and girls from both public and private secondary schools who emerged as most outstanding with an aggregate of six to nine points in the 2022 MSCE Examination Results,” said Kaonga.
Kaonga disclosed that Maranatha will award, Vitumbiko Kaunda, from Mtendere Secondary School with K1 million. Kaunda got six points.
Arnold Nyasulu, from Robert Laws Secondary School will also be awarded having scored seven points.
From Maranatha Boys, Praise Kabaghe and Hastings Kumwenda will also be awarded having scored eight points apiece.
“We will also recognize nine girls from public and private institutions who were outstanding having attained nine points respectively as aggregate of best six subjects in the exam,” he said.
Kaonga added that they will invite all their students, who have been selected to various public universities to thank them for their hard work and discipline that has contributed to their selection to the university.
“We are also inviting our 342 students, who have been selected to public universities to join the party,” he said.
On another note, Kaonga said it is the school’s wish to have the First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera grace the occasion.
“Our first choice is to have the First Lady of the Republic of Malawi because she is a true Education Ambassador who will inspire the students in their pursuit of academic excellence. We are very grateful to the First Lady for doing her best in promoting education standards in the country,” he said.
