Cluster Leader for Mzuzu Government Secondary Education, George Chunga, says Malawi 2063 can only be achieved if students in the country have acquired quality education.
He said this during a Continuous Professional Development Training that the cluster conducted at the school.
Chunga, who is also the head teacher at Mzuzu Government Secondary School, said the skills acquired are important as they will help students to prepare well for the exams.
“The training complements well with the Ministry of Education Science and Technologies’ effort towards creating a society whose members are not only knowledgeable but are also skilful to support their communities and the country at large in line with Malawi 2063 vision,” Chunga said.
Senior Education Quality Assurance officer for Northern Education Division, Victor Lungu, who represented the Education Division Manager for the region, said the training has the potential to improve quality of education in the country.
One of the participants, Bertha Kanyinji, a teacher at Kavuzi Community Day Secondary School, said the training, which brought together 175 secondary teachers,
has enlightened them on how to drill their students ahead of exams.
