Mtandire area in Lilongwe city has received a thorough cleaning courtesy of officials from the Ministry of Local Government, Lilongwe city council and other organisations.
The exercise marks the beginning of Urban October and coincides with World Habitat Day and World Cities Day celebrations.
Urban October is a global campaign initiated by UN-Habitat, focusing on promoting sustainable urbanization and addressing urban challenges.
This year the commemorations are centered around the theme ‘Youth in Action! Clean Cities, Resilient Communities: Proper Waste Management, a Catalyst for Improved Drainage system.
