The newly constructed Thyolo Makwasa Road has been cut off following the heavy rains that have been falling in the Southern Region since Friday last week as a result of Cyclone Freddy.
The heavy rains have washed away part of the Msuwazi Bridge which connects the road to the Msuwazi River.
The river overflooded during the wee hours of Tuesday.
MBC Online understands that in the current situation, passengers going to Malamulo Hospital in Makwasa are being assisted by local communities to cross the river at a fee.
