The Malawi Council for the Handicapped (MACOHA) has unveiled social media influencer Pemphero Mphande as a brand ambassador for its Bangwe Factory.
Chief Executive Officer for MACOHA, George Chiusiwa, is optimistic that Mphande will use his influence to market products from the factory.
“Pemphero has used his platform to reach out to marginalised people, including those with disabilities, this partnership will help to highlight the achievements of the people with disabilities, thereby fostering inclusion,” said Chiusiwa.
Mphande has since expressed delight over the deal.
“This is an extension to the works we have been doing,” he said.
Bangwe Factory was established in 1975 to, among others, offer employment to people with disabilities.
The factory makes worksuits, bags, uniforms, carpets and other clothes.
