LCC pledges to reunite street connected children with their families

In observance of World Street Connected Children Day, the Lilongwe City Council has called for concerted efforts in ensuring that no child is left homeless.

Richard Banda, Mayor for Lilongwe City, has told MBC that the council is committed to reuniting street-connected children with their families and providing shelter and assistance to those without homes.

He has since urged people to stop giving handouts to street connected children, a development which he argued hampers the council’s efforts to address the issue effectively.
