Korea donates medical items worth K1BN

Global Life Sharing has donated medical supplies worth over K1 billion to the Ministry of Health through the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DODMA) to assist Cyclone Jude victims.

This is a South Korean international relief non-governmental organisation which was established to support underdeveloped countries with medical and educational infrastructure.

Deputy Minister of Health, Noah Chimpeni, commended Global Life Sharing for the donation, saying it will assist thousands of Malawians.

Chimpeni urged DoDMA to ensure that the supplies reach the victims in good time.

Korean Ambassador to Malawi, Park Jae-Kyung, said his government has confidence in the Health Ministry and DoDMA that the aid will reach the people in need.

Cyclone Jude-induced destructive rains and winds hit the Southern Region and parts of the Eastern Region over the past few days, leaving thousands stranded and in dire need of support.
