President Paul Kagame will take oath of office for another five-year term on Sunday, 11 August 2024  following a landslide victory in the 14 -15 July  election, where he secured over 99 percent of the votes.

The inauguration ceremony, set to take place at the iconic Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, is expected to draw a large crowd.

A total of 27 African Heads of State and Government are expected to attend the occasion, with Malawi being represented by Vice President, Dr Michael Usi after being delegated by President Dr Lazarus Chakwera

The inauguration comes nearly three weeks after Kagame was re-elected, winning by a significant margin against Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda and independent candidate Philipe Mpayimana.
