District Information Officers (DIOs) have been urged to focus on stories which are propagating the Malawi 2063 agenda, which spells out the dreams and aspirations of President Dr Lazarus Chakwera.
Speaking in Dowa at the end of a three-day workshop on news production for radio, Director of communication at the State House Dr Kent Mphepo stressed the need for DIOs to remain professional when carrying out their information dissemination duties on various development issues.
Mphepo cited various government projects taking place in different districts that are having a positive impact on the population as some of the stories that need to be highlighted.
He further cited President Chakwera’s key pillars including job creation, wealth creation and food security as critical areas in realising the Malawi 2063 agenda.
Mphepo therefore expressed hope that the DIOs will ensure credible flow of such information to the citizenry.
