People in Rumphi District, especially at Lusani and Sokolo in Traditional Authority Chikulamayembe’s area, want law enforcers in to beef up security as some community members in the area are turning to mob justice.
Speaking with MBC, Rumphi District Social Welfare Officer, Vincent Kaonga, says there is need to do something on the issue.
Director of Chikulamayembe Women Forum, Tionge Gondwe, who organized a scorecard interface with support from Action Aid Malawi on the said challenge, has meanwhile urged communities in the area to provide working space such as a Police unit at Kamphenda to promote justice and peace in the area.
Group Village Kasawambe, speaking on behalf of Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe, said plans are underway to find a lasting solution to the problem.
