CHURCH DISTRIBUTES RELIEF FOOD IN MACHINGA

Deputy Presidential Advisor on Religious Affairs Sheikh Hashim Abbasi has urged religious bodies to join the government in supporting Malawians facing hunger.

Sheikh Abbasi was speaking at Makwera Primary School in the area of Traditional Authority Chikweo in Machinga when Salvation for All Ministries International Church donated assorted food items to hunger-affected households in the district.

In his remarks, the General Secretary for the Church, Pastor Yamikani Nthala, said religious bodies have an important role to play in reaching out to those in need.

According to Pastor Nthala, the donation which includes maize flour is worth over K40 million.
