Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government, Esmie Kainja, has urged District Councils to align their budgets for projects in the 2025/2026 Financial Year to Malawi2063 aspirations.
Kainja said the councils should come up with projects that can uplift the lives of communities they serve.
She made the remarks on Monday in Blantyre during the opening of a technical budget review meeting organised by National Local Government Finance Committee (NLGFC) for M’mbelwa District Council.
NLGFC is holding a technical review budget meetings with local councils for the 2025/2026 financial year.
Economist for M’mbelwa District Council Council, John Mwambughi, has since presented a K63 billion 2025/2026 financial year budget for the district.
