Maranatha Academy has intensified efforts to instil good character and positive values among its learners during the festive season, emphasising that the holidays should be a time for growth, discipline and responsibility rather than negative behaviour.
Managing Director of Maranatha Academy, Ernest Kaonga, said the school is using the Christmas break to reinforce moral values such as respect, honesty, hard work and love for one another, particularly among young learners.
Kaonga noted that the festive season often exposes children to various social challenges, making it important for schools and parents to work together in guiding learners to make responsible choices.
“Good character is the foundation of a successful future. At Maranatha Academy, we believe education goes beyond the classroom. Even during the holidays, learners must be guided to uphold discipline, respect elders and contribute positively to their communities,” said Kaonga.
He added that the academy has engaged learners in structured holiday programmes that include reading activities, life-skills training and talent development, aimed at keeping them focused and productive.
Kaonga further called on parents and guardians to remain actively involved in their children’s lives during the festive period, urging them to monitor behaviour and encourage positive habits at home.
“Parents play a critical role in shaping children’s character. When schools and families work together, we raise responsible citizens who will contribute meaningfully to society,” added Kaonga.
Maranatha Academy remains committed to holistic education that nurtures academic excellence, moral values and social responsibility among learners.
