People rush to register on final day in Rumphi

Potential voters in Rumphi flocked to various voter registration centres in preparation for the 2025 General Elections.

The centres are Rumphi Magistrate’s Court, Rumphi Prison and Saint Dennis Primary School.

A Supervisor at Rumphi Magistrate Court Registration Centre, Milca Nyoni, said for the first time since registration began they have witnessed a queue at the voter registration centre.

“I do not think we will break for lunch today. There are so many people coming to register,” said Nyoni.

Nicolas Msiska, a Supervisor at Saint Dennis Primary School, also said numbers have picked today.

The same increase has also been recorded at Rumphi Prison Registration Centre.

Registration in Rumphi started on November 9 and winds up today.
