Youth clubs pitch agri-business plans in Lilongwe

Nine youth clubs from Mchinji, Mzimba and Ntchisi have gathered in Lilongwe to pitch their agri-business plans with three winning clubs set to receive K3.5 million each to advance their businesses.

The competition has been organised by the National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) with support from GIZ.

Williot Lumbe, NYCOM Programmes Director,  said the council is committed to work with various partners to create more opportunities for young entrepreneurs to thrive in the country.

“The youth are the future of our nation. By investing in their skills, ideas and enterprises, we are investing in the future prosperity of Malawi,” said Lumbe.

He also expressed gratitude to GIZ for their unwavering support and commitment to fostering youth entrepreneurship in rural areas, thereby driving economic growth and development.
