Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Aisha Adams, has urged the Muslim community in the country to consider establishing institutions of higher learning.
Adams has said this in Lilongwe during an Iftar dinner that Bedir Education and Medical Foundation Trust organised for members of Parliament of different denominations at Parliament Building in Lilongwe.
The Second Deputy Speaker says higher education is the pinnacle of education advancement and shapes the future of the nation.
She has since applauded the long standing partnership between the Muslim community and the government through support in developmental projects in different areas such as education and health care services.
She has also emphasised the need to do charity works, especially towards people affected by different calamities in the country during the holy month of Ramadhan.
Bedir Education and Medical Trust has distributed 1,500 Ramadhan packs in the country over the past three years.
