We want trusted investors not exploiters — Chakwera

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has told Texas prospective investors to come to Malawi with the intention of helping the country and not to exploit its people.

Dr. Chakwera was speaking at a Malawi/Texas business roundtable discussion meant to court possible partnerships and investments in various sectors, particularly those that align with the ATM strategy.

At the meeting, President Chakwera brought his team of experts who presented data and prospects of the market in Malawi in mining, tourism, agriculture among other things, to a delegation of private sector players from Texas, led by Kyle Lance Martin, the founder and Chief Executive Officer for Time to Revive.

The Texas team also presented to the President their interest areas in Malawi and what they do in America.

Dr Chakwera assured them of a conducive environment for their ventures, should they decide to invest in Malawi.

“Malawi is so blessed with a lot of things; from valleys, precious stones, beautiful landscapes. I encourage you, if you want to invest in agriculture, go for mega-farms and not subsistence farming,” said the Malawi leader.
