First Grade Magistrate Phillip Chibwana in Balaka District has sentenced three individuals to 12 years imprisonment with hard labour for robbery with violence.
The convicts, Precious Kamoto, Alick Kamoto, and Shadreck Yolamu Mateyu, robbed and killed Gerald M’manjamwada and his wife Ireen between the nights of 8 and 9 January 2024 at Nsoma Village in Balaka District.
In court, they all pleaded not guilty to charges of robbery with violence, prompting the State to parade 10 witnesses who proved the case beyond reasonable doubt, leading to their conviction.
The three are also expected to face charges of murder.
