Silver Strikers FC at the helm of TNM Super League

Silver Strikers FC continues to top the Telekom Networks Malawi (TNM) Super League while on the other side, Baka City are still at the bottom of the league’s log table.

During the match played at Karonga Stadium on Saturday, May 4, Silver Strikers FC thrashed Baka City by two goals to nil as the latter failed to utilise home-ground advantage.

The spectators from both teams were expecting that the match would end in a goalless draw. However, in the fourth minute of added time of the first half, Baka City scored into their own net through Chimwemwe Kaliyala before Binwell Katinji pushed in the second goal which completely demoralised Baka City FC.

Coach for Silver Strikers FC, Peter Mponda, said despite the win his team did not play their usual game while the team manager for Baka City FC, blamed it on poor officiation.

In other fixtures, Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC drew 1-1 with FCB Nyasa Big Bullets while Mzuzu City Hammers FC shared the same scoreline 1-1 with Moyale Barracks FC.
