Police nabs man selling ‘fake’ Flames replica jerseys

Malawi Police Fiscal and Fraud Unit in Blantyre have arrested a shop owner, Ellah Littah, on suspicion of possessing 71 counterfeit Flames Moto replica jerseys from his shop, M&D Fashion.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM)’s Marketing and Broadcasting Manager Tulipo Mwenelupembe said the Association engaged the Police after noticing counterfeit merchandise of its brands on the market.

Littah is expected to appear in court and has been charged with counterfeit trademarks contrary to section 388 sub-section (d)(e) of the penal code.

At the moment, inquiries are underway to discover the source of the product.

He hails from Nsaliwa Village, TA Kalembo in Balaka District.
