National Bank of Malawi plans to expand its operations by opening branches in four countries in the SADC region.
Chief Executive Officer for National Bank Macfussy Kawawa disclosed this in Mzuzu, saying the regional penetration will help Malawians living in other countries access National Bank services.
“The countries that we are interested in are Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Currently, we are working with Akiba Commercial Bank in Tanzania and our specific goal is to achieve this by the end of 2027,” he said.
The bank believes the exercise will help Malawi generate forex and at the same time help the company to grow horizontally.
