Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court in Balaka has convicted and sentenced 37-year-old Elad Efati to 21 years imprisonment with hard labour for robbery with violence.
On 3 April, 2024, Efati brutally murdered Akimu Liwonde and went away with valuables worth K350,000.
The matter was reported to Police and Efati was arrested when his wife was found selling a stolen blanket and in court, he pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery with violence.
Efati hails from Chimutu Village in Traditional Authority Makwangwala in Ntcheu District.
