The Malawi Beach Soccer National team has qualified for the semifinals of the Cosafa Beach Soccer Championship in South Africa after walloping Seychelles 7-2.
Isaac Kajamu opened the scoring in the 12th and 13th minutes, followed by Dala Simba in the 14th minute and Arnold Lasten in the 22nd.
Thoko Kamanga found the net in the 29th minute before Kajamu sealed the victory with a strike in the 35th minute, bringing the final score to 7-2. Kajamu was awarded the man of the match accolade.
The result takes Malawi to six points.
In the same group, South Africa will take on Saudi Arabia.
Malawi’s semifinal opponents will be identified this afternoon and they could be Angola, Morocco or Mozambique, all from Group B.
