Police in Dedza have arrested 28-year-old Solomon Simango for allegedly murdering his wife, Eliza Simango Yona, because she was ‘talking to other men at a drinking joint’.
Dedza Police Station publicist, Beatrice Jefita, says this sparked violent disagreements all the way to their house and villagers found Eliza’s lifeless body in the morning hours, prompting them to bay for Solomon’s blood, who was quickly rescued by the law enforcers.
At the moment, Eliza’s body has been taken to Dedza District Hospital for postmortem while the suspect awaits court trial to answer murder charges.
Eliza Simango Yona hailed from Thom Village in Traditional Authority Kasumbu’s area in Dedza District.
