The Malawi Under 21 men’s team faced a tough start at the Zambezi Test Series, losing both of their games on the first day at the Olympic Development Centre in Lusaka, Zambia.
In their early game, Malawi was defeated by Uganda 6-1, followed by a 8-2 loss to neighbours Zambia.
The team’s next match will be another face-off against Uganda on Saturday and they will conclude the series with a final game against Zambia on Sunday.
The series, which follow a round-robin format, was initially set to feature four countries: Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Uganda. However, Zimbabwe withdrew at the eleventh hour citing financial challenges.
