Jemere Morgan, a recording artist and nephew of the late Peter ‘Peetah’ Morgan, has assumed the role of lead singer for the dynamic reggae group, Morgan Heritage.
In an exclusive interview with a US newspaper The Star, the lively musician, who is also the nephew of the late Peter Morgan and has served as the opening singer for the group for the past 15 years, expressed honour in stepping into his uncle’s shoes.
“I’m stepping into a size 12,” he joked. “But duty calls, and when one is called upon, we have to fulfill the mission, especially if it’s to carry on the legacy of our family. I love music; it’s my passion. We approach this like it’s not a job because, to us, it truly isn’t, especially as a family. It’s a mission; it’s our purpose to uplift people through our music and our consciousness,” said Jemere, who is the son of Gramps Morgan.
