First Lady Madam Monica Chakwera is expected to join 14 other African First Ladies for this year’s Merck Foundation Africa-Asia Luminary scheduled to take place next week.
The conference is expected to take place from November 15 to 16 in Asia.
In a statement, the Foundation said this year’s conference will discuss strategies and the impact of partnership programmes in building healthcare capacity and their role in breaking infertility stigma and supporting girl child education among others.
The ninth meeting of Merck Foundation Africa Asia Luminary will be chaired by Dr Rasha Kelej who is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairperson of the organisation.
Merck Foundation works with the office of the First Lady in each respective country and it complements government efforts in health and education.
