In the corruption case involving Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima High Court Judge Justice Redson Kapindu has ordered the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) to make available all documents being used as evidence to the defence team, as earlier requested by Dr Chilima’s lawyers.
He said ACB should not provide an investigation report to the defence, but the evidence it has gathered around the case.
Justice Kapindu further said an investigation report, may not include all relevant facts and sometimes it may be inaccurate.
The court also ordered the ACB to release to the defence, information extracted by the National Crimes Agency of the United Kingdom from Mr Zunneth Sattar’s gadgets.
On Sattar’s bank accounts, Justice Kapindu also advised ACB to release to the defence Sattar’s Bank statement in relation to the case.
Justice Kapindu said the earlier objection by NCA that the bank statements cannot be made available following confidential laws of UK banks, Kapindu insisted that the National Crimes Agency of the UK is not party to the case here, but only a partner of ACB in soliciting some evidence.
