President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is set to participate in the World Bank’s International Development Association Summit in Nairobi, Kenya on Monday, April 29, 2024.
The President is scheduled to leave for Kenya on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President’s attendance is at the invitation of Kenya’s President, William Ruto, following the World Bank’s endorsement of K100 billion in aid to bolster Malawi’s food security initiatives in response to President Chakwera’s Declaration of Disaster in 23 districts affected by El Nino weather patterns.
President Chakwera is expected to return on April 29, 2024, at 1700hrs.
