Some retail shops in Blantyre that in recent weeks had little or no sugar are now stocking the product, courtesy of Salima Sugar Company.
Speaking after inspecting a consignment delivered on Saturday, Salima Sugar Company Executive Chairman Wester Peter Kossam said he was happy that for the first time, their distribution agent has managed to deliver sugar in some outlets such as Sana Cash and Carry in Limbe and at Ginnery Corner.
Kosam assured people that the company is now producing 60 tonnes of sugar each day, and the tonnage will continue to flood the market.

Manager for Global Distributors Limited said that by Sunday, more sugar will be delivered at Shoprite and Ekhaya shops as more trucks will be arriving in the commercial city.
