CHAKWERA LEAVES DRC FOR MALAWI

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and Madam Monica Chakwera have left Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, through N’Djili International Airport after successfully attending the 42nd Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government where among other things he handed over SADC Chairmanship to DRC’s President, Felix Tshisekedi Tshilombo.

During his short visit to DRC, the outgoing Chairman among other engagements held separate bilateral talks with the Zambian President, Hakainde Hichilema and Tshilombo on how the regional integration agenda can be advanced and how the countries can collaborate on several avenues including trade.

The Malawi leader was seen off by DRC’s Minister of Transport and was accompanied to the summit by the Secretary to Government and Cabinet, Collen Zamba, Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, as well as Minister of Trade, Mark Katsonga Phiri, and other senior government officials.
