Blue Eagles targets K13 million at fundraising dinner

Blue Eagles Volleyball Club has announced its intention to raise approximately K13 million from the fundraising dinner currently taking place at the Officers Mess at Malawi Police Headquarters in Lilongwe.

Individuals, organisations, volleyball teams and the Central Region Volleyball Committee have made contributions in cash and kind for the team to meet their K29 million budget for the forthcoming Zone 6 Senior Clubs Championship to take place in Botswana in December this year.

The team’s Publicity Secretary, Samuel Gama, says they managed to raise about K16 million which enabled them to settle travel and affiliation fees ahead of the tournament.

Gama says they now need the funds for the team’s accommodation in Botswana.

CIC Insurance Limited has donated K1 million in cash and jerseys to both the male and female teams worth K1 million.
