MRA beats July revenue target

The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has surpassed the July revenue target by about 5 percent, from the expected K314 billion to K329 billion.

The MRA has also seen a 62 percent growth in taxes, from around K203 billion in July last year to K329 billion in July this year.

Commissioner General for the MRA, John Bizwick, attributed the rise to good performance in revenue growth in corporate tax, PAYE, taxes on income and profits, as well as fringe benefits and non-resident taxes.

Bizwick commended taxpayers for their commitment and compliance in achieving the targets.
