WVM bails out hunger affected households in Chikwawa

World Vision Malawi (WVM) has distributed over K79 million cash to 527 households affected by hunger in Chikwawa District. 

Each household has received K150,000 which is enough to get them at least three bags of maize.

Speaking at St. Mathews Primary School under Traditional Authority Lundu in the district, Food Assistant Manager for WVM, Andrew Chimera, said this is part of the organisation’s lean season food distribution exercise.

Chimera further said cumulatively, the organisation has reached out to 15,222 households affected by hunger in Chikwawa during this year’s lean season, spending over K2 billion.
