The 2024 Central Region Pool League has kicked off with a call for teams and players to maintain discipline and order for the sport’s reputation.
Vice Chairperson for the Central Region Pool League James Msowoya said the committee will set strict enforcement of rules and regulations to deal with any team or player involved in any instance of indiscipline.
“Last season there were some indiscipline incidents which affected our league and we punished some players.” Msowoya added, “We don’t tolerate indiscipline in our league as it scares away the sponsors and dents the sport’s reputation.”
This year’s league boasts an increase of K6 million, up from last year’s K5 million.
Deputy Director for PJ Bites Montie Mhango has since committed continued support to the Central Region Pool League Committee, recognising its potential with proper backing.
The league is expected to conclude in November where the champions will pocket K1.5 million with runners up walking away with K1.2 Million.
