UTM party is addressing the media at its headquarters in Area 10 in Lilongwe.
The press conference follows the missing of an aircraft carrying Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima, who is also UTM President, and nine others.
The search for the missing plane is still underway in Chikangawa Forest in the northern part of Malawi.
