UNHCR responds to KK, KA floods

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has assisted the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA) by providing 200 tents.

The tents will be distributed to families in Nkhotakota and Karonga districts that were recently affected by floods.

Kouame Modeste, the UNHCR Representative in Malawi, has pledged continued support to DoDMA.

Moses Chimphepo, the Director of Disaster Response and Recovery at DoDMA, has described the donation as timely, stressing that rebuilding from the disaster requires a significant amount of resources.

The donated family tents are worth over K120 million.
