The Minister of Trade has urged manufacturers to take note of market needs and come up with solutions if they are to conquer the domestic market.
The Minister, Sosten Gwengwe, said this in Lilongwe during the Buy Malawi Day commemoration.
He said once that is done, it would be easy for them to penetrate the international market.
UNDP Representative, Fenella Frost, said it is interesting to see Malawi’s products transforming, adding that the Buy Malawi strategy is key to enhancing the economic transformation of the country through job creation, poverty reduction, and spurring self-reliance.
Malawi launched the Buy Malawi strategy in 2016 to promote Malawian products.
Different SMEs will showcase their products for two days as part of celebrating the day.
