President Dr Lazarus Chakwera is optimistic of meaningful outcome from Malawi’s collaboration with Australian graphic design suite, Canva.
The President recently had an audience with the founders of the platform, Melanie Perkins and Cliff Obrecht.
Writing on his Facebook page, Dr Chakwera has expressed delight in Canva’s interest to join forces with GiveDirectly in adding value to Malawi’s national cash transfer initiatives.
GiveDirectly is a US-based non-profit organisation that specialises in wealth creation social initiatives through investment-enabling lump sum grants to communities.
“Malawi’s development agenda continues to attract like-minded partners who have belief in our future-changing aspirations as defined in the Malawi Vision 2063,” the president said.
The meeting comes months after GiveDirectly injected $42 million towards government’s cash transfer programme.
Meanwhile, GiveDirectly which has partnered Canva is in the process of designing a multimillion-dollar wealth creation project that will cumulatively benefit 1 million people.
