Police to deploy intelligence-driven operation

Malawi Police Service says it is fully equipped to implement intelligence-driven operations aimed at deterring crime and maintaining law and order in the country.

National Police Deputy Spokesperson, Harry Namwaza, emphasised that these operations will assist in curbing all clandestine activities sought at weakening the country’s security systems.

Namwaza asserted that this year, Police will double breathalysers’ presence in townships across the country and deploy additional speed trap traffic cameras to reduce road accidents.

“Last year we managed to reduce crime rate and road traffic accidents. This year we want to strengthen our operations to further reduce crime and road traffic accidents,” Namwaza said.
