National Product Magazine has awarded manufacturers who have outperformed their competitors in the manufacturing sector.
The event held at BICC in Lilongwe also forms part of the 100th Edition Celebration for National Product Magazine.
Minister of Trade and Industry, Sosten Gwengwe, was in attendance among other dignitaries.
Founder of National Product Magazine, Steve Chinyamula said the awards seek to stimulate production in the home industry.
“We have heard from President Dr Lazarus Chakwera saying we need to become an exporting nation. We can only increase exports if our production base expands,” said Chinyamula.
In his remarks, Gwengwe said the government is working round the clock to create an environment that drives exports.
“It is possible to turn around the country’s fortunes. The secret is nothing, we need to produce, produce and produce then we can have more exports that will bring the much-needed forex,” said Gwengwe.
During the night several firms including ETG, Capital Refineries Limited, Bakelines Confectionaries Limited and Zomatila Limited received awards in various categories.
