Minister of Trade Sosten Gwngwe has described the inauguration of the Mwanza One Stop Border Post as a game changer to the socio-economic development of the country.
Gwengwe said this in Mwanza during the official handover of the facility to the Ministry from the contractors.
He said the facility can spur economic activities at the border and create a conducive environment for people doing business in Malawi and Mozambique.
Deputy Commissioner General for the Malawi Revenue Authority, Henry Ngutwa, said the facility will reduce travel time spent by people when processing documents.
Ngutwa said this is because all agents and clearing companies will be housed under one roof.
The project is worth K3.2 billion and started in 2021 with financial support from the World Bank.
