Mindray donates advanced ultrasound devices to Lighthouse Trust

Mindray Medical International Limited, a Chinese multinational manufacturer of medical instruments, has donated two advanced ultrasound machines to Lighthouse Trust to aid in the management of HIV, TB, and Hepatitis B cases.

According to the Chief of Health Services in the Ministry of Health, Dr Lilian Chunda, these are state-of-the-art machines that will accelerate the diagnosis of complications developing in HIV patients and ease clinicians’ work in identifying the appropriate treatment for patients.

Dr Chunda noted that the advanced ultrasound machine is the first of its kind in the central region and the second in Malawi, with the first located at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital in Blantyre.

General Manager for Mindray, Daren Liu, said that the donation is part of their corporate social responsibility.

Lighthouse Trust works in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH) to provide a comprehensive response to HIV through high-quality care.
