Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) Commissioner Francis Kasaira has praised Balaka District, referring to it as an example of “servant dedication” due to an impressive turnout by residents for voter registration.
Kasaira made the remarks on Thursday at Zammimba Primary school in the district after a two day tour in registration centres.
The MEC commissioner also called for continued efforts on civic education to ensure that no one is left behind.
“I am responsible for three districts: Balaka, Machinga and Neno, but I must commend Balaka District Election Supervisory committee (DEST) for the tremendous figures that I have seen in the centres,” he said.
