Malawi has hailed the Chinese government for its continued support in various sectors, including road infrastructure development.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nancy Tembo, made the remarks when a Chinese delegation met President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera at Kamuzu Palace in Lilongwe.
Tembo noted that since establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 2008, cooperation between Malawi and China has strengthened in areas such as trade, infrastructure development, and education.
“The delegation of 14 people has come to Malawi solely to consolidate the already existing bilateral ties. They will also engage the Malawi Bureau of Standards on a number of issues so that Malawi exports quality standards goods,” Tembo said.
During the audience, the delegation which comprises chairman of the Sun Group of Companies handed over 500 solar panels to Malawi.
